This method is used to find the level of water in any area. It is very useful. It helps us in many areas. The water level indicator has 4 LEDs, which are used to indicate the respective level of water. The circuit of water level indicator is simple. This circuit uses 9V DC supply as a source. We can use 9V battery or we can covert directly the AC source using adapter. The capacitor and piezo alarm are in parallel connection with each other. The 3 LEDs are connected with 1000 ohm resistors. It is connected with resistor so that the LEDs don’t get burned. Resistors are used for the safety purpose of LEDs. The capacitor is used for the starting purpose of piezo alarm. It stores the charge and it helps the buzzer to start. It consists of 4 wires which are connected to the end of LEDs of different length. This different lengths of wires helps to glow the respective LED of that particular level. When water of certain level comes in contact with wire, the circuit is completed and the LED starts glowing and the LED of respective level starts glowing. This way the circuit is completed.

APPARATUS REQUIRED


  1. STAR BOARD
  2. WIRES
  3. LED (4)
  4. PIEZO BUZZER
  5. RESISTORS(1 KILO OHM)
  6. CAPACITOR (1000 MICRO FARAD)
  7. 9V DC SUPPLY

PROCEDURE OF MAKING WATER                      LEVEL INDICATOR


  • First of all you need a star board to do connections.
  • You will require 4 LEDs of different color.
  • You will require piezo alarm and connecting wires,
  • A 1000 micro farad capacitor is also required for the starting purpose.
  • A 9V DC supply or an adapter is required as a supply.
  • Now on star board connect two wires which are going to be used to be connected to the source.
  • The negative end of the source through which the battery is connected, is then connected to the other wire which can be helped as neutral.
  • The positive end of the battery is connected to the 3 LED through resistor.
  • The 4th LED is not connected through any resistance because it is connected with the buzzer so, the chance of LED getting burnt is low.
  • The ends of the LED are connected through other wires of different lengths.
  • The different length wires are used because at different height of water the circuit would be complete and the result will be shown by glowing LED.
  • The buzzer will start sounding when the maximum level of water is reached.
  • This way the circuit of water level indicator is completed.

The circuit is already explained in the PROCEDURE. Now we will understand how this circuit works.

First of all the battery helps as a source to the circuit. The connecting wires are used to transfer the current to the circuit. The different length wires play the vital role in the circuit. When the water level reaches that level the LED of that respective level starts glowing. The buzzer helps to alarm us that the maximum level of water has been reached. This way the water level indicator works.
